A nice surprise

I got my newest issue of Scrapbooks etc a couple of weeks ago and as I was flipping through it I saw my layout!! My “I can Fly” layout was showcased from Scrapbooks etc web galley.  How cool is that?!!  I made the layout for my friend’s daughter.  She was singing the lyrics to “I Believe I can Fly” right before her graduation ceremony.  I was so excited to see this layout in Scrapbooks etc.  The kb7vbz is my username for the board.

A few TOOTS to share

It’s been a great couple of weeks for me with my scrapbooking.  I’ve had two items picked up for publication.  The first is my “I Love You” card using the Antique Cream Narratives collection by Creative Imaginations.  This was one of my favorite cards, with its elegant and classy look.  I’m so excited to have this card chosen for Card Creations 6, the next special issue of Paper Crafts magazine!!  I love these special Card Creations issues with all their inspiration.  The second item is a baseball layout, called “Swing.”  I made this layout for our CT reveal at A Cherry On Top showcasing the baseball collection by Flair Designs.  Debby, a fellow board member from A Cherry On Top shared an awesome photo of her son, Will, up at bat.  This layout will be featured in the Hobby Lobby magazine, Stamping, Stationery & Scrapbooking 3rd Quarter 2008.

Next, I received several notifications of winning some scrapbook contests.  The most exciting was being named Trendsetter of the Month at Scrapsupply.  There are always so many outstanding layouts showcased here; the competition’s steep so it’s quite an achievement to be recognized.  I also won the chipboard challenge at Scrapbooks etc.  This was a Designer Challenge issued by Erin Clarkson, who is a contributing editor for Scrapbooks etc and designer for Making Memories.  Erin has been my scrapbooking idol and inspiration for years; I’ve always loved her work.  To be chosen the winner of her chipboard challenge was a great honor for me.

My final and biggest TOOT, is being chosen as a Guest Artist for Bisous.  If you’ve been following my blog you’ve seen some of my work using this amazing product.  Since discovering Bisous at Winter CHA, I’ve been hooked.  I just can’t get enough of their product.  Suzanne Carillo, the designer and owner of Bisous is simply wonderful and I’m extremely honored to be her guest artist for July/August.  She has sent me some amazing product to work with; I can’t wait to begin creating.  Keep an eye out here as I post some of my creations and look for others to appear in the Bisous newsletter.  One item to note are the new PDQ Journal Pads.  Look at these cool, hip designs!

SEI Reveal

This week the Creative Team at A Cherry on Top is showcasing the new Dill Blossom line by SEI. I really enjoyed working with this line. The colors are gorgeous and there is such variety with the double-sided papers. With just a few sheets you have matching solids and prints. I’m really tired of the weather here with all the rain so my layouts take you away to Mexico. These photos were taken during my friend’s cruise. I kept the layouts simple and relaxed to match the photos. So forget your worries and the cold weather. Come escape with me and stroll on the beaches of Mexico.

Few cards to share

I’m behind on my layout scrapping but I’ve managed to complete a few cards with some left over paper. I can’t wait for warmer weather so my cards have a nice tropical feel to them. If only I could be on a nice, warm beach enjoying some sunshine and warm temperatures.

Here’s another wedding layout I made for Erik and Brenda. Once again I used paper from Bisous. They have incredible paper that you can use as is or cut it up to customize your design. The details, colors, and designs on their paper make it look like you spent hours on the layouts when in reality they took just minutes to make. For both layouts I used paper from the PDQ Regal line.  In fact this paper is double sided and I used one sheet, YES ONE SHEET of paper for both wedding layouts. After I completed the “forever” layout from Friday’s post, I flipped the paper over and scrapped today’s layout “For as long.” One sheet of paper, some chipboard, and a few other embellishments and you have two gorgeous layouts. If you haven’t checked out Bisous, click here to see their amazing products. This month they’re releasing some new PDQ Journaling on-the-go pads. Of course I’m on my way to place another order.
